An Overlooked But Easily Correctable Cause of Headaches, Dizziness, Anxiety and Reading Problems

Mark Rosner, MD, FACEP, FAAO is a board-certified Emergency Physician who has practiced for over 30 years. He is also the Director of Education and Research at Vision Specialists Institute and Chief Operating Officer of Vision Specialists of Michigan. He and his team have founded the new specialty of NeuroVisual Medicine, which focuses on the treatment of serious symptoms such as headache, dizziness, anxiety, neck pain and reading and learning difficulties that are due to (surprisingly) a subtle vision misalignment from Binocular Vision Dysfunction. This impacts at least 10% of the population, and a much greater percentage of those diagnosed with migraines, concussion/TBI, gait and balance instability, Meniere's disease, dyslexia,  anxiety and panic disorders. The proper use of aligning eyeglass lenses results in an 80% reduction of symptoms for the average patient.

He has co-authored peer reviewed articles on Binocular Vision Dysfunction, and has presented lectures and posters locally, nationally and internationally. He is co-director of the NeuroVisual Medicine Training Program, a five-day course designed to train optometrists from around the country and the world to become NeuroVisual Specialists.
