Jeff Lichty - Clarkston Rotary Club

Jeff Lichty joined Rotary in 1989 with the Clarkston, Michigan, Rotary Club. He served as club president in 1998-99.  During that time, he recruited Mary Sloan as a member to fulfill his membership goal for the year.   Four years later, Jeff and Mary were married while on a Rotary eye care mission to Grenada. They each have two children and share one grandchild who recently announced that he is 2 and ¾ years old.

Jeff was active in Youth Exchange before becoming District Governor in 2004-2005.  He served as a director of the U.S.A./Canada Youth Exchange Network during that organization's charter year.

Jeff has lived all his life in Michigan with the exception of two years in the United States Peace Corps.  He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received a Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University.  After working in community economic development programs for a decade, Jeff started his own financial planning business in 1981 and is still working as a financial planner.

Jeff is currently the Annual Giving Chair for District 6380 and Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for Zone 29. Next year he will be the Alumni Coordinator for Zone 29.

The Rotary Foundation has become one of Jeff's passions, both on the spending side and on the giving side. One of his joys has been to be a member of the Ambassadorial Scholar selection committee and help with the selection of the country's future leaders. He backs his love of the Foundation activities with monetary support as he is a major donor, a Bequest Society member, and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He has been recognized for his efforts with the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service.
